My Sweet Petunia

Camden and I have done lots of reading this June. One source of inspiration was "Fancy Nancy's Favorite Fancy Words". Camden called her Grandpa dapper and I was often referred to as zany . I have described Camden using Nancy's fancy words joyous and gorgeous and we had fun with the word yearn. But my own personal favorite phrase is "My Sweet Petunia".

"My Sweet Petunia" and I made several excursions to the swimming pool and library. A special excursion to the Ft. Worth Science Museum and the National Cowgirl Museum were shared with dapper Grandpa Mike. We improvised many art projects without fiasco and sent them back to Oklahoma as souvenirs.

Zany Grandma Debbie was the hostess of a pink lemonade party and Camden's knack for 'skin the cat' feats drew cheers of Ooh la la!

All this fun with vocabulary inspired song lyrics to the tune of "Oh My Darling" in dedication to my gorgeous, joyous Granddaughter Camden.

Oh, my darlin' sweet Petunia, how I yearn to keep you here.

You'll be lost and gone forever, if you head North, 0h I fear!
