Garden Stress

Enrolling in the Master Gardener program was good for my brain and forced me to get out and meet new people. Unfortunately I didn't anticipate the pressure receiving this title was going to place on me. Now I can't just dig a hole and throw a plant from Lowe's in it. I have to research its water, light and nutritional needs and we didn't discuss landscape design. Will I have textures and colors that work well together and be balanced symmetrically or asymmetrically? Will I go to gardening hell for ripping out two perfectly healthy holly bushes? It has gotten too complicated and way too stressful!

My soil has been amended, but is still lumpy, I forgot to add the nitrogen and phosphorus, which means my dirt is deficient. My house faces NW and the front porch garden is a micro-climate yet to be zoned. To date this six by nine foot area is valued at roughly $185, with no guarantees. It is 8:38 AM and I'm headed to the backyard to amend a new plot for an erroneous planting of an Euonymus.

"My paws and claws and elbows hurt. I have a pain across my back", quote I from the Digging-est Dog. I fear I'll never get the knack and have to give my label back.
