I recently observed the one year anniversary of my retirement and celebrated with a trip to the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge. My goal was to see an eagle and Mike's goal was to get home in time for the Dallas Cowboys game. The day was perfect, the lake was full and the birds were numerous and vocal.
We didn't see an eagle but a very fashionably attired bird watching couple did. The man's response to questions concerning eagle viewing locations was "just keep looking up". I think I'll adopt this slogan for RY2 (retirement year two). It's catchy, positive and incorporates clouds! As for the eagles, they have an appointment to appear at organized watches in January. Mike has calendared the dates in his blackberry.
