Cranky Walking

Finding "the zone" during your walk can be satisfying. You feel the glide, each limb in sync with the other, each foot rolling off the pavement on cue. When you finish, you are relaxed, happy and in love with the world. When you don't enter "the zone" your walk can turn cranky. Like the path you follow, your limbs jerk and twist, your feet drag and stumble and your toes complain. Your eyes and nose begin to itch and you silently respond with "oh shut-up" when a dog barks his morning greeting. From a passing motorists you elicit a kind thought concerning your neurological disorder and you want to quit.

Then you sneeze. You stop, cross knee over knee in the "Karate Kid" pose and pray only nasal fluids exit your body. You make it home, kick off your shoes in frustration and grab a Kleenex, a Zyrtec and take a picture(?). A fretful attempt to enter "the zone" before it's to late.
